Overview

Are you a British Raj enthusiast? Would you like to know of the varied communities that lived in Bombay and thrived as Business opportunities presented themselves?  Or do you simply want to walk away from th tourist areas and immerse yourself in an enclave lost in time? Well then Our Mazagaon Docks Tours are ideal for you.

Well before today's touristy Colaba rose to prominence, much of the erstwhile Bombay of the 1800s operated from Byculla. A locality dedicated to Businessmen, it was the magnet for many who wanted to and have minted money in this island city.

From Jews, Muslims, Parsees and even the Chinese, our walks are curated in a way that you get a taste of the lives of the varied communities without loosing the essence of the area and will even get a chance to visit  the only Chinese Temple in Bombay.

We will hear tales of the former mighty names like the Sassons, made famous by the book Thieves of Baghdad and even understand what happened to the now much dwindled Chinese Community in Bombay.

For those interested, we can even make a detour to visit St. Mary's School whose famous Alumni was Freddy Mercury!

We will end the tour with a visit to the Docks and capture the sun setting behind the skyline of Bombay. We will then take a local bus / taxi and drop you back to the Victoria Terminus for your onward journeys.

Meeting Point: Under the Lion Statue below the central dome of Victoria Terminus
