Overview

Bombay, rightfully called "The London of the East" has seen much in its days that spans from the advent of the Portuguese in the 1500's to today. Since its takeover by the British as a wedding gift by the Portuguese Monarchy, Bombay has always been the focal point for business and trade.
From being the epicenter of the Cotton Trade in India to the port that facilitated the departure of goods and services that kept the World Wars alive to the advent of Fishing Women docking on its shores to fish for men! Bombay has seen the rise and fall of many an industry and men some of whom have been immortalized.
During this tour, we will explore the city from the prism of its origins and the contributions of many a community both native and foreign that have led to the city we see today. Apart from the colonial aspects like the seats where King George V and Queen Mary sat during their visit to the St. Thomas Cathedral in 1911, we will also focus on many an urban and often unheard off tales such as the fact that a ship called HMS Minden built by the prominent Wadia Family helped the Americans in conjuring their National Anthem!
Our discussions are aimed at understand that history is often a one sided affair and that to truly understand its power, we need to keep an open mind and see both sides of the con and in this way realize that life is only subjected to how we choose to see it.
